Using the Kids Studio

Kids Studio

The Kids Studio is a space where children can experience and learn to enjoy art. Within the studio, they can use the materials around them to freely explore their creativity. Workshop events for children are also held in this space.

Opening Hours

9:30AM-12:00PM; 1:00PM-4:00PM

(The Kids Studio is closed between 12:00PM and 1:00PM)

Studio Closures

The Kids Studio is closed on Fridays, and on days when the Miyagi Museum of Art is closed.

  • The studio may be temporarily closed for reasons such as events and set-up for events. Access to the studio may be restricted when in use by visiting school groups. Please check the Museum Calendar on the Japanese webpage for details.
Usage Fee

Free of charge.

(A participation fee may be charged for events held within the studio.) 

Rules of the Studio
  • Please take care of tools and materials.
  • After using the studio, please clean your workspace and tools before leaving.
  • Please refrain from risky behavior and behavior that inconveniences other users.
  • This studio does not provide childcare services.Guardians are responsible for the safety of children within the studio.
  • Please cooperate in sharing the studio space and tools with other users.
  • Users can use recycled materials and borrow craft tools such as scissors, glue, tape and markers at the Kids Studio. If other materials and tools are required, we request that users bring their own supplies.

 

Picture Book Room

The Picture Book Room, which is located within the Kids Studio, is a space for infants and young children. Please remove shoes before entering. Parents and children can relax and enjoy this space together. This room contains picture books whose original illustrations are stored within the Miyagi Museum of Art collection, as well as baby books, storybooks, and wooden building blocks. The Picture Book Room has the same opening hours and closures as the Kids Studio.
