Second Miyagi Prefecture Multicultural Society Promotion Plan (Intermediate Proposal)
In July 2007, the “Measures Regarding the Promotion of Constructing a Multicultural Society” were established with the purpose of creating a prosperous and energetic prefecture through the respect for human rights and participation in society of the prefectural residents, regardless of differences such as nationality and ethnicity. The “Miyagi Prefecture Multicultural Society Promotion Plan” was developed in March 2009 based on Article 7 of those measures in order to implement the policies regarding multicultural promotion in a comprehensive and systematic way.
Since the period of time outlined by the plan (2009 – 2013) will end in March 2014, the “Second Miyagi Prefecture Multicultural Society Promotion Plan” will be developed to indicate the basic direction and be the main guiding principle for implementation of measures for the promotion of a multicultural society. This plan will be based on the basic principles and policies of the previous plan while taking into consideration the Great East Japan Earthquake Disaster, prefectural efforts to date, and other current issues.

At present, development of the new plan is being discussed by the Miyagi Prefecture Multicultural Society PromotionCommittee; however, we are seeking everyone’s opinions and suggestions in order to draw up the final proposal.

*Please note that we cannot accept comment submissions by phone.
(2) Submission format
There is no official submission form; however, we ask that you write down your name (in the case of an organization of business, please write down the name of the organization or business as well as the name of the representative), telephone number, gender, age, and nationality. Submissions in languages other than Japanese will also be accepted.
7） Deadline for submission
Submissions will be accepted from November 25 (Mon.) to December 13 (Fri.)
8） Future plans
It is planned for the final draft to be made public at the locations mentioned above in point 5 along with everyone’s comments and Miyagi Prefectural Government’s responses.
Please understand that we cannot send individual responses from the Miyagi Prefectural Government.
