Sakunami
 
Sakunami Hot springs Sakunami is situated along the upper Hirose River, in a canyon near the mountain pass along the border of Yamagata Prefecture. It's said to have been in existence for 1,300 years, and some of the inns in this resort have open-air baths using the hot water that spring forth between rock deep within the canyon.

Gyogi Nyorai
 
Gyogi Nyorai The temple's main image of the warship Gyogi Nyorai is a tribute to the legendary Heike clan, and is said to have miraculous powers of romance and conception. Also on the premises is a tumulus of Emperor Antoku. The five-story tower was completed on October 6, 1986 as the first structure of its kind in Miyagi Prefecture.

 
Nikka Whisky Sendai Distillery
 
Nikka Whisky Sendai Distillery Tour of whisky distilling process and whisky tasting. The tour takes about 30 minutes. Whisky tasting is held at the hall. You can also choose to shop only.

 
Nikkawa Line
 
Nikkawa Line This valley stretches along the Nikkawa River from Yatsumori Station (tentative) on the JR Senzan line to a point near the Okunikkawa Station. People can enjoy the beauty of the valley along a ±5km hiking course that takes about 2 1/2 hours to walk. One can enjoy waterfalls such as the Sanjo Falls and the Nunobiki Falls.

 
Houmei 48 Falls
 
Houmei 48 Falls Numerous small and large waterfalls cascade down into the Hirose-gawa River below. If you listen closely, you can hear the sounds of the "homei"(mythical phoenix) among the thundering waters.
